Obituary of Carol D. Burgess

Carol D. Burgess, 76, of Kingston, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family and the loving family dog. She is survived by her children 
Stuart Burgess and long time partner Kathy Barr of Odessa, FL , Anne Burgess of Kingston, MA and Melanie Ladson and her husband Carey of Kingston,MA. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Daniel, Grace, Alyse and Victoria as well as her sisters Joanne Bovey and Priscilla Johnson amongst many other family that loved her. Predeceased by her husband Thomas Burgess and her parents Marshall and Priscilla Dwinnell. 

She grew up in Weston, Ma and graduated Beaver Country Day school in 1963. She spent her summers in Duxbury until making it her permanent home in 1984.

Carol was an avid golfer and long term member of Duxbury Yacht Club. Winning the ladies championship in 1985, 1988 and 2006. Her and Tom traveled extensively, making several trips to Africa where they supported several families over the years. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and most of all spending time with family. She always had a smile in her face and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by everyone she touched especially her children and grandchildren. 

Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, on Sunday, August 15, from 11:00 to 12:00PM. A service will be held at 12:00PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home.

A celebration of life is to be held immediately after at the Ladson/Burgess home, all are welcome.
