Dorothy G Fitzsimmons-Baker (Enguanti) age 94, of Duxbury, passed away at home on July 21, 2021.
She was born in April 1927 to Salvatore Enguanti and Mary C (D’Amico). Dorothy graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School in 1944, Boston Teacher’s College in 1948, and received her Master’s Degree at Boston University in 1965. She was a special needs educator for over 40 years, teaching in the Boston, Norwell and Weymouth schools before retiring in 1989.  
Dot had a love for reading, time at the beach, painting, theatre, art, dance, movies and music.  She had a curiosity and enthusiasm for new places and experiences, and traveled all over the world with family and friends.  During her lifetime Dot built many lasting friendships, and treasured each and every one. 
Residing in Duxbury for the past 20 years, she was always active in the local community. She loved her book club and their luncheons, and lifelong learning classes at the senior center.  
For the past 80 years Dot has been a summertime resident of Pinehurst Beach in Wareham, cherishing time there with family, friends and neighbors. 
Dot was married to the late Thomas G Fitzsimmons and the late James A Baker. She is survived by her daughter Lisa M Fitzsimmons of Duxbury, sons Robert T Fitzsimmons of Strafford NH, Paul M. Fitzsimmons of Denmark, ME., James Baker of Minneapolis, MN., Richard Baker of Kennebunkport, ME. and daughter-in-law Katherine Baker of Nantucket. Loving Nana to 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sister to Irene Conte of Danvers, MA and the late Jeanette McCue. Dot mourned the loss of her eldest son Mark S. Fitzsimmons in 2016.  She is also predeceased by Patricia Falla and Robert Baker.
Visiting hours will be held at Shepherds Funeral Home, Kingston on Thursday, July 29, from 4 -7pm. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 10:00 at Holy Family Church in Duxbury. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choosing.
