Douglas G. Vaughn, 65, of Kingston, Massachusetts passed away July 15, 2021 surrounded by family. He was born October 25, 1955 in Neosha, Missouri, the son of Dallas Vaughn and Hazel Nunes. He was proceeded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Robert McDonald. He is survived by his loving wife Darlene M. Vaughn “Atherton”, of Kingston, MA, son Jason M. Vaughn of Hampton, NH, brothers and sisters: Gordon McDonald of Missouri, Dennis McDonald of Tennessee, Joseph Nunes of Missouri, Angie Heeringa of Tennessee, Randy Vaughn of Tennessee, Jeff Vaughn of Tennessee, Alan Vaughn of Tennessee, Tina Gross-Aguirre of Lansing Michigan, Darla Thyng of Florida, Dean Vaughn of Tennessee, Abby Mullins of Tennessee, Jameds Atherton of Pembroke and many more nieces and nephews.

Douglas graduated from Whitman Hanson in 1973. He united in marriage in 1976 to Darlene Atherton and remained a loving, loyal, and devoted husband and father to Jason Vaughn born in 1977.  He was honorably discharged in 1973 from the Army. Douglas was employed at Ocean Spray, Land Transport and for 27 years at Moran Environmental, previously Fleet Environmental and held the Director of Operations position at the time he passed. Douglas enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, fishing, gambling, riding motorcycles, and travelling.

 

Services for Douglas will be held at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, Kingston, MA 02364 on July 24, 2021. The family will welcome guests from 11 AM- 3 PM. In lieu of flowers the family has asked donations be made in memory of Luke Nathan, Al Nathan’s son who passed unexpectedly in a tragic accident. The donations will build a trust for Lilee Nathan, Luke’s daughter. Donations can be made to:

There will be a Celebration of Life after the services at the Black Raspberry Pub, 36 Cordage Park Circle in Plymouth, MA 02360. Please join friends and family as we reminisce.
