Obituary of Robert M. Bousquet
On Thursday June 10, 2021, Robert M. (BISCUIT) Bousquet Sr, an example of what it is to be a husband and father passed away at a hospital in Boston. He was 85.
Bob was born in Salem, MA one of the six children shared by his parents Joseph and Ruth (Ackerman) Bousquet. His mother passed away when he was very young, and he spent his early years between his father in Hingham and his grandparents in Salem, before he became a foster child. He experienced many temporary homes before finally settling with his new family on a chicken farm in Pembroke. On that farm he worked hard, and at 17 he enlisted in the Army. Upon his discharge he returned to Pembroke and became a true townie. He purchased a home, walked onto a job with the Pembroke Highway Department and later married Jeannette.
BISCUIT was small in stature, but he had the largest of hearts. Those who knew him loved him, and called him by many different names (BOB, BISCUIT, Mr. B, LOADERMAN, DAD & GRAMPA). Those who met him found him funny and kind. He was fun loving and always the first to hit the dance floor at any gathering he attended. His free wielding nature would quickly invite others to join him. He enjoyed spending time poolside at his house with family and anyone else that stopped by. Since the passing of his wife, he and his daughter would spend their long summers swimming, cooking, and eating there. He never stopped working. In addition to working 41 years operating the Frontend Loader for the town of Pembroke, he always had a second job, picking cranberries, operating the Zamboni at the Hobomock Rink, and cutting down trees. For years after retiring, he continued to occupy his time cutting grass at the Pembroke cemeteries and junking metal on the side. BOB’s life changed when his grandson Daniel was born. Daniel was the center of his universe, and BOB enjoyed nothing more than taking in an action movie at a local theater with his Son and Grandson.
Bob was preceded in death by his Wife, his parents, and his siblings Alice, Shirley, Louis & Al. He is survived by his two children Robin and Bobby, his “favorite” daughter-in-law Lucy, his grandson Daniel, his sister Louise, and many nieces and nephews.
A remembrance of life service is scheduled at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, Kingston, MA 02364, on Saturday 06/26/2021. Visiting hours will be held from 10:00AM-12:30PM, with a service held at the Shepherd Funeral Home immediately following. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers Bob and his family ask you to consider committing a random act of kindness and dance a little for the enjoyment of others.
In Loving Memory
Robert M. Bousquet
