Obituary of Paul F DeChiara

Paul F. DeChiara, 82, of Kingston, originally from the Savin Hill section of Dorchester, died suddenly on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.  He leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Lucy DeChiara; devoted father of Michael DeChiara and his wife Ann Marie of Kingston, Paul J. DeChiara and his fiancé Regina Moran of Holbrook, Nancy Jones and her husband Keith of Kingston, Marie DeSantis and her husband Scott of Kingston: loving grandfather of Dominic (Margot), Joseph (Julianne), Talia, Jeanette (Angel), Anthony, Elizabeth & Christopher; great grandfather to Enza, Russell, and one on the way; dear brother of Carol Tobin and her late husband Robert of Chelmsford; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Paul was a custodian for 37 years with the Boston Public Schools and a longtime member of the Castle Island Association.  He enjoyed traveling, baking and spent many hours in the yard keeping a perfect garden.  He read the newspaper daily and could carry on a conversation with anyone.  Over the years he donated many gallons of blood to Boston Children's Hospital.  Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

 

Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, from 4 – 8 p.m.  Funeral services at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston, on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.

 

Interment followed at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s memory may be made to the Castle Island Association, PO Box 342, So. Boston, MA 02127 or Kingston Garden Club, PO Box 204, Kingston, MA 02364.
