Dear Nancy and Kerin:
This was the most beautiful obituary. You guys said it all.
Now, I have the advantage of perspective. For all the people I've met through the years of life, your parents, Bob and Carol, probably made the greatest impact on me and on our lives. Now, I realize they were saints among us.
It was a "Camelot time" in Duxbury. At times it was just another day. But looking back and over the years, it was very special. Father Clougherty, Father Reed, Lou Mills, Steve Turrell, Curceo, Marriage Encounter, work camp in West Virginia, My Father's Keeper.
Our thirties were so special. The fondest memories of Bob, thrilled to be in Duxbury (we all were), lifting his can of Schlitz as I came around the corner. "I've got a case !", staying up in the wee hours and talking religion, and tennis. Carol, "the white tournedo" as Art Keefe called her in his eulogy for Bob from the center pulpit of Holy Family in his white robe.
Memories - Skating, tennis, you girls (and Sean), piano, singing at Church, the Gang, caroling at Christmas, sailing ("you broke my mast !"), quahoging and chowda, the dump, 4th of Julys, poison peanut butter, Molly and Bea. Those 9 years on Cranberry Drive held great memories of your Dad and Mom. They were special.
So many fine memories, images - they were saints. Struggles through this life, but oh what passion and character. The last time I saw Carol, I walked her down our icy driveway to her car at Bonnie's Christmas party. "I came because it will probably be the last time I saw you". And it was.

My memories of Carol will be everlasting. One of my favorite memories was the wonderful time Joe and I had with Bob and Carol at the Boston College 50 year reunion. They were a wonderful couple. I have kept in touch with Carol every Christmas.
May she rest in peace.
