We were so sorry to hear this news about your wonderful wife and mother. I remember fondly our days as "hockey moms" watching the boys and if I saw Joanne in the stands, I thought "now this will be a fun game" because she was always that: fun. And kind, and warm, and just an all-round lovely woman. Sending you boys and Mark prayers during this time. Sincerely, Selden Tearse (and Squire too)

There are no real words to describe what is has been like to have a best friend like Jody for over 50 yrs. To be able to share your deepest thoughts, secrets, joys and sorrows, marriages, children and then to start planning your retirement years together has been the gift of a lifetime to me. Although we will not share our retirement years together as we planned, you will be beside me every step of the way. I believe your spirit and soul is deeply connected to mine and through this connection you will remain with me until I am no longer on this earth.
I love you with all my heart and soul Jody. As I promised you just a few weeks ago, I will always be there for the boys and Roakie. Linda and I will always have the best parts of you embedded into our souls and we will share this with the boys throughout their future.

I feel truly blessed to have known Joanne. Joanne was such a bright light! Whenever we were together I always felt she looked at me like an angel with such love, light and acceptance. We went to a few Michael Franti concerts and I loved sharing this pure joy with her. She often spoke of her family, and I know she loved them fiercely. My condolences to Mark, Cory, Drew and Cam. She blessed many lives and will be missed by all of them.

Although I’ve only known Joanne a short time, I feel so truly blessed to have known her and to have experienced her unconditional and generous love. When Joanne greeted you, she looked right into your eyes with a warm smile, and you knew, this beautiful person was genuinely excited to see you and truly loved you. Joanne was a rare gem. I had the privilege of attending two Michael Franti concerts with Joanne. It was an experience to see this sweet soul dance for two hours straight, as if she was one with the music and all the love in the room.
My condolences to her husband and sons. Her family was the center of her world. She had so much love for everyone ❤️

Dear Sullivan family, I was blessed to be a caregiver to Joanne at the start of her illness. She was a strong proud woman. In the two hospitalizations that I cared for her, she was always speaking of her boys. They were in all her thoughts. She loved her family. I am so sorry for your loss, but know she loved you. It was a gift for me to care for her. Blessings to all of you.— Brenda RN

Brenda,
I just wanted to tell you that Joanne made a special note to tell me how much she appreciated you and felt so deeply cared for by you; there is nothing more beautiful than to hear those words from best friend, especially when she was so frightened and vulnerable. I thank you as her friend and as a nurse colleague, there is no greater gift a nurse can give her patient ❤️
She made me promise I would come to the hospital and thank you in person, I hope I am able to do this one day

Joanne was so much fun to be with, always smiling. Very positive and saw the good in everyone. My father-in-law and I spent years sitting in the stands with her at hockey games. She was always our first choice. Our loss is heaven's gain.
