Please share a memory of Michael E. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Michael E. Chase of Duxbury passed away peacefully at home on May 10, 2020 at the age of 81.
Born and raised in Detroit on July 9, 1938, Michael moved to Duxbury over 40 years ago with his beloved late wife of 58 years, Margaret Chase, and six children.
Michael will be forever remembered and loved by his son Michael R. Chase and his wife Hermik of Belmont and their daughter Narineh; his son Mark Chase of Kingston; his daughter Kathryn Chase of Duxbury; his daughter Karen Chase of Duxbury; his daughter Kristen (Chase) Durling and her husband Mark of Carver and children Matthew and Abigail; and his son Scott Chase, his wife Kate of Duxbury and their children Sage, Iris and Liam. Brother of Emil Przeklasa and his wife Judy, Mary Hamilton and Dan Przeklasa, all residing in Michigan.
Michael will be remembered for his amazing leadership and strong work ethic. He received his degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from Wayne State University in 1961. Michael then spent over 30 years working for Stouffers Restaurant Company culminating in his management of Top of the Hub Restaurant in Boston throughout the 1980’s. His managerial skills were later utilized in Duxbury’s Brooks Pharmacy (later Rite-Aid) where he was loved and respected by many. His passions included Boston sports teams (yet secretly rooting for the Detroit Lions), fishing from the Powder Point Bridge in Duxbury, his soft heart for rescuing animals, and long distant running. Later in his retirement Michael enjoyed volunteering at the Duxbury Senior Center as well as the Duxbury Fire Dept.
Special thanks go out to all of Mike’s caregivers from Cranberry Hospice who loved and cared for him.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
