Please share a memory of Grace to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Grace M. Sorrento, 94, of Kingston, passed away on May 9, 2020. She was born and raised in The North End of Boston by her loving parents, the late Thomas & Doralinda (Scatamacchia) Todisco. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick A. Sorrento. Loving Mother to Frederick C. Sorrento and his wife Susan, and Josephine (Jo-Ann) Gabriel and her husband Alan. She was predeceased by her siblings, Frank Todisco, Lucy Todisco and Jeanette Raineri. Grace was a loving sister-in-law to Annette Todisco and to the late Walter Raineri. Cherished Grandmother to Brooke Sorrento (late), Lindsay Roth and her husband Michael, Emma Gabriel, Stefanie Perreault and her husband Noel. Also survived by her Step Grandchildren Leslie Gabriel, Darcy Gabriel, and Adam Gabriel. Great grandmother to Amber Collins, Emilee Fusco, Hannah Roth, Charlotte Roth, and Easton Perreault. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Grace married the love of her life, Fred, in 1948. They made their home in Dorchester and in Weymouth; eventually retiring to Town & Country Estates in Kingston in 1985, where she was an active member of the homeowner’s association and loved planning and taking part in social events. She was an avid bowler and looked forward each year to the bowling banquet. She also was a loyal fan of The Boston Red Sox and The New England Patriots. She and her husband were fabulous dancers and took the floor at many weddings and celebrations. Grace worked at The Stetson Shoe Company in Weymouth and The Foxboro Company in East Bridgewater. Grace’s homemade pizza was prize-worthy, along with her sauce and meatballs. She was happiest when her dining room was full of family or friends, both of which meant so much to her. Grace especially loved getting together with " the gang" (her close friends at Town and Country) for dinner, conversation and laughter. She will be remembered and missed by so many. Donations in Grace’s memory can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (Partners in Hope), Wingate at Silver Lake, or Sunrise Assisted Living at Plymouth Beach. Funeral services will be private.
