Obituary of Irene Terranova

Irene Terranova, 87, of Pembroke, passed away on May 4, 2020. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, John Terranova. Irene is survived by her two children, John Terranova Jr. and Susan Bartels. She was the beloved grandmother of John Terranova III, Julie Rosa, Jackie Barrett, and James Bartels. She was an adored noonie to her great grandchildren. Irene grew up in South Boston. Initially living in Dorchester, she later moved to Pembroke, building her own home where she lived with her husband for over 50 years. Before retiring, she was dedicated to her work as a secretary at Hobomock Elementary school in Pembroke for over 25 years. Irene and Terry lived a full life. They enjoyed traveling, cooking, running, golfing, swimming, and hosting family dinners. Spending time with her family at home is what she enjoyed most in life. Irene loved her family above all else. She was a strong woman with a generous heart who would help anyone in need. She always put others before herself. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. Due to current health concerns, a private graveside service will be held at the Center Cemetery in Pembroke. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Massachusetts COVID-19 Relief Fund
