Venise attended Maine’s Commerce Business College, associates degree and transferred to Katherine Gibbs, of Boston and graduated in 1952. She interned at Harvard University Medical Administration program, before starting work at Boston Children’s Hospital Administration from 1954-1960. Venise was a strong practicing Catholic, with personal workings’ of the Opus Dei Foundation. Her beliefs led her to be a strong caring woman that always gave of herself. Much of her donated time was spent volunteering at Catholic Thrift shops and hospitals. Her infectious smile, goodwill, gracious personality made family gatherings an experience not to be forgotten. Gatherings always had homemade dishes fresh from the gardens and the tables were decorated with flowers from the yard. 4th of July in Duxbury was an event many nieces and nephews had attended over the years, and Venise always made family feel welcomed. Her town of Duxbury held a special place in Venises’ heart. She found so much comfort & joy in the beaches and parks. Saquish, Powder Point, Ship Yard Lane and sailing around Clark’s Island were her favorite activities Duxbury had to offer. She always had her toes in the sand. Venise grew up in a huge family. Her parents Pepere Thomas and Memere Marie had 11 children. Venise’s siblings are Norman, Lucielle, Laurette, Collette, Viola, Irene, Marcelle, Reale, Russell, Giselle and Ruth. Being raised in a large family gave Venise amazing and funny stories and memories to tell.. The family summered on Silver lake, Rangely mountains in Maine. The family cottage a haven for fun every summer for over 40 yrs. Venise has been a wonderful inspiration and a gift for all of us. It is heart wrenching to have to say good-bye to such a kind soul.
