In 1990 dad, mum and I went to stay with Auntie Dot and Ken. They made us feel so welcome, Auntie couldn’t do enough for us, she went out of her way to make us comfortable and to make our month long holiday a really special one.
There was a lot of laughter and fun, like the day Auntie Dot and my mum went down the children’s slide. Another day we went out for the day and my mum and Auntie Dot were laughing at something, we were walking across a wooden slatted bridge near the coast, and my mum nearly lost her false teeth, mum and Auntie Dot laughed so much they were doubled up and nearly wetting themselves, everyone was looking at them as if they were on drugs, but they didn’t care, they just kept on laughing. ... it certainly was a holiday that I will never forget, just as I will never forget my Kind, fun loving and strong and determined Aunty Dot XX
