F. Jean Thompson, formerly of Duxbury MA and Palm Harbor FL, passed away September 26, 2019 at the age of 92.
Devoted wife of the late J. William (Bill) Thompson; loving mother of Ken (Jeri), Carol (Bob), Bill (Mary), Linda (Peter); and cherished grandmother of Ryan, Alison, Bill, Briana, Matthew, Gregory, Nicholas and great grandson Gavin. Jean was also blessed with many nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Woburn MA, she was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Templeman) Coles and the sister of the late Dorothy Fairweather.
Jean was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grammy. She had a wonderful and kind personality and always made people around her smile, making friends everywhere she went.
Jean’s passions involved singing in the church choir and playing the piano as she entertained so many. She also enjoyed gardening, was an avid bridge player and loved reading books.
Jean’s love of music landed her the role of Preschool Music Teacher at St. Johns Church in Duxbury where she entertained her students with her original songs, one to her delight was published by The Ocean Spray Cranberry Company. She also wrote piano music, some of which were played at her children’s weddings.
