Obituary of Margaret L. Keirstead

Margaret L. Chandler Keirstead 89 of Plympton passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 7, 2019. She is the wife of the late Edward W. Keirstead.

 

Born April 25, 1930 in Shelburne Falls, Ma. She is the daughter of the late Shirley W. Chandler and Miriam Cromack Chandler.

She graduated from David Prouty High School in 1948.

She worked as town fire and police dispatcher for 45 years. She was a member of Plympton Congregational Church, Ladies Sewing Circle and taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Ladies Fire Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, reading, word search, making puzzles and spending time with family and friends.

 

Margaret leaves behind her children Joyce Crothers of Maine, James E. Keirstead of Alabama, Jean Davis of Massachusetts, Russell W. Keirstead of Massachusetts, Gloria Upchurch of California, and Robin Witt of Oregon, and the late Barbara Keirstead and Virginia Keirstead.

She is the devoted Gramma and GG to 17 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren with the 15th due in December. Also, many nieces and nephews.

 

Visitng hours will be Thursday July 11th from 4-7pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home in Kingston.

Interment will be private.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the Plympton Congregational Church at 2:00 pm.
