Gerald “Gerry” R. McMahon, 65, husband of Alice McMahon of Carver, went home to be with the Lord after a 2-1/2 year long battle with cancer on July 7, 2019.

Born April 18, 1954 in Boston, Massachusetts he was the son of the late Albert Charles Carroll and Mary Geraldine Fitzgerald McMahon.

Gerry attended the Immaculate Conception Schools and graduated in 1973. He worked for 37 1/2 years for Alpine-Courier Stoughton as a feeder. In his spare time Gerry loved spending time outdoors, hunting, painting and gardening. He served as a Deacon for Faith Baptist Church aka Church of the Vine.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Alice. He is also survived by his sons John of Carver, Patrick and his wife MacKenzie of Carver, and Albert of Carver. Lovingly known as “Popi” by his grandchildren, Connor Nickolas of Pembroke and Luella Rachel of Carver.

Gerry is also survived by his sister Alice and her husband Bob of Florida, sister Nancy and brother Jimmy both of Revere, and by two nieces and two nephews.

Gerry was predeceased by his daughter Rachel Ann McMahon.

A celebration of life will be held on July 20th at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Vine, 5 Wareham St, South Carver, with an hour visitation to be held at the church from 9:30-10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Jordan Hospital Cancer Club or the American Cancer Society.
