Obituary of Irene Hicks

Irene Hicks, 91, passed away on April 18, 2019. Loving wife of the late Henry C. Hicks.  Irene is survived by her children, Carol A. Hicks and Glenn M. Hicks and his wife Jane. Irene was preceded in death by her brothers the late Manuel and James Henriques and her late sister Eva Farias.  She is survived by her sisters, Alice Mattos and Lea Freitas. Loving grandmother of Jason, Jeffrey, Gregory, Alyson and Justin and nine great-grandchildren. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. 
Irene was born and raised in New Bedford, MA and later moved to Braintree and then to Duxbury. She enjoyed spending winters in Port Charlotte Florida with her sisters and friends. She loved working in her gardens and outdoors and especially loved spending time with her loving family and friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, Kingston, on Thursday, April 25, from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 26 at Holy Family Church in Duxbury at 10:00AM.
