Obituary of Mary A. Korpinen

Mary A. Korpinen, 91, of South Carver, passed away on December 9, 2018. Loving wife of the late Edward N. Korpinen. Beloved mother to Cheryl K. Korpinen of New York City, Brenda Chase and her husband David of Plympton, and Neil Korpinen and his partner Rick Erickson of Provincetown. Sister to Elsie Salmi of Sarasota, FL. Cherished grandmother to Laura Falconer and her husband Alex of Plympton.  

Mrs. Korpinen was an RN graduate of the Cadet Nurse program at Massachusetts General Hospital. Mrs. Korpinen was the school nurse of The Governor John Carver School, and later the town visiting nurse in Middleborough. She was also the former Director of Nursing at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Middleborough. Mary and Edward were longtime Grower-Owners of Ocean Spray Cranberries. 

Mary will be remembered as a very generous and compassionate caregiver to her entire family. 

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 16th from 2-5:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (rt. 58) Carver. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 17th at the United Parish of Carver, 115 Main St. at 10:00 AM. Graveside services will follow at the Union Cemetery in South Carver.
