Obituary of Linda M. Jackson

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Linda Jackson, 65, of Plympton passed away on November 15, 2018. She succumbed to a battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife and best friend of Steven Jackson for over 40 years. Linda was also the loving and dedicated mother of Sonja Jackson, Amanda Jackson, and Ethan Jackson, all of Plympton. She was born in Warwick, RI to the late Warren and Ruth (Stubbs) Mathewson, and was sister to Bonnie Buhl of Kingston, Susan Newton of Wirtz, VA, and the late Adam Mathewson of OR.

Linda always had a heart for children, evidenced by her years as an elementary school teacher, and subsequently as the homeschooling mother to her three children, and as a tutor to many youngsters over the years. She adored babies, taking advantage of every opportunity to hold or babysit nieces, nephews, and children of family friends. Linda enjoyed all of God’s creation, but she especially loved the ocean and the smell of salt air. Always selfless, Linda lived a life of sacrifice and service for her children, family, and others. Most of all, Linda will be remembered as a caring, loving servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and followed since childhood. We who are left behind will miss her greatly, mourning her passing and her absence, but we will rejoice in the knowledge that she is now free from the struggle with cancer that took her from us. We are fully confident that Linda was welcomed into her eternal home by Jesus Christ, who surely greeted her with the words, “well done, my good and faithful servant.” We are also sure that Linda was welcomed by her mother, father, and brother, all of whom preceded her on their journey to eternal life with Christ. And, we know that one day each of us whom she left behind will be reunited with her in Heaven.
