Obituary of Jeanette Bonvie

Please share a memory of Jeanette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jeanette Bonvie (Doten) passed away peacefully on Friday, November 2nd 2018, with her daughters by her side.  Born and raised in Plymouth, MA, she lived in Kingston for the past 55 years.  Jeanette graduated from Plymouth High School in 1951 and then Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing.  She dedicated her career to the service of others, first as an emergency room nurse in Quincy, MA and later as a pediatric nurse in Plymouth, where she was affectionately known as “Mrs Murphy". She was often called upon to heal a scraped knee or diagnose a cold for the many neighborhood children who could always be found playing in the back yard or sitting at her kitchen table eating her “world famous” chocolate chip cookies.  She enjoyed gardening and reading and, later in life, traveling as well as spending time with her friends at the Kingston Council on Aging.

Jeanette was the wife of the late William J Bonvie and the late John C Murphy.  She is survived by her six Children: Sean Murphy, of Kingston, Maureen Goonan of Plymouth, Brian Murphy and his wife Katie of Las Vegas, NV, Patrick Murphy and his fiancee Maureen of Cohasset, MA, Michael Murphy of Sandwich, MA and Colleen Thayer and her husband Bryan of Plymouth MA.  She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to her biological family, Jeanette leaves behind several cherished friends and loved ones whom she considered her extended family.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, Kingston, on Friday, November 9, from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Kingston on Saturday, November 10, at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at the Chiltonville Cemetery in Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cranberry Hospice of Plymouth at 36 Cordage Park Circle Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.”
