It is with great sadness that the family of Alexander T. Berte Sr. (Big Al) announces his passing on Thursday September 27, 2018. 

Father of Shannon Berte of Pembroke, Alex Berte and his wife Crystal of Kingston, Stephen Berte and his wife Andrea of Hingham, Brian Berte and his wife Amanda of South Boston.  Grandfather to Thomas, Ella, Olivia, Declan, Maxwell, Cole, & Henry.  

Son of the late Philip Berte and Catherine (Kay) Berte of Davie Fl and loving brother of the late Philip V. Berte of Hollywood Fl, Samuel Berte and wife Sherrillof Braintree & Michael Berte of Boston. Al is survived by many nieces and nephews. Al leaves behind the mother of his children, Joan Mazares, his loving companion Carol Mulkern of Hanover, and his dear friend, Jimmy Ludvigson of Readville.

Al was a Boston native and 1971 graduate of Catholic Memorial High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps before opening his own roofing and construction business.  He made Pembroke his home for over 25 years where he left his mark coaching youth sports and served at the president of Silver Lake Youth Football for many years. An avid Boston sports fan, he loved his New England Patriots.

Services in celebration of Al will be celebrated 4-8pm on Monday October 1, 2018 at Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St, Pembroke, MA 02359. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Catholic Memorial  where Al and two of his sons were alumni, along with other family, and very dear friends. Please donate in Al’s name. Catholic Memorial
