Obituary of Joseph G. Morris

Joseph (Sonny) Morris passed away peacefully after a long illness, at home with his loving wife of 44 years at his side, while holding his hand, and saying the rosary. He was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Araujo) Morris, loving father to Denise Oliveira and her husband Wayne, Lois Ramos and her husband Kenny, Wendy Lopes, Judy Reis, Penny Beverly Morris and her husband Ralph Gonsalves, Joseph Morris and his wife Caitlin, and Olivia (Libby) Hudson and her husband Sean. He is also survived by his brother Ken Silva, and sister Judith Silva, as wel las many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

During his life he held many jobs; former Carver policeman, construction worker, cranberry harvester, and retired from the state of Connecticut as a Psychiatric Drug and Alcohol Rehab Counselor.

He had many interests in life. He played in a band from age 13-77. He loved to go to yard sales, flea markets, and antique stores, where he would sell his beautiful refinished furniture. He was an avid gardener and often helped his neighbors with there gardening. He will be missed by all his friends and neighbors.

Visiting hours will be held on August 15th from 4-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (Rt. 58) Carver. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 16th at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes, Carver. Graveside services will follow at St. Mary's cemetery in Middleboro.
