Obituary of Conor V. Stenerson
Conor Vincent Stenerson, of Allston MA, formerly of Plympton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday July 19th 2018. He was 30 years old.
Conor grew up in Plympton, MA attending the Dennett Elementary School and Silver Lake High School. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He worked for the Boston Healthcare System in Jamaica Plain as an Information Technology Specialist.
Conor loved online gaming (playing with a group of friends from across the country he had never met but knew since he was 14). True to his allegiances he was an avid Boston Bruins and Patriots fan and a Red Sox supporter despite living in a household of Yankee fans. He was a voracious reader and enjoyed reading books about World War II history and the Viet-Nam war as well as science fiction. He enjoyed watching contemporary films and old war movies such as The Great Escape and The Bridge on the River Kwai. You never saw Conor without a pair of headphones listening to podcasts and his favorite music, anything from electronic to oldies. He loved animals especially the 2 cats he owned in his lifetime, Sharkey and Mojo. Although he was often quiet, he had a quick wit, was always willing to have a spirited discussion and had a way with the written word. He was a gentle and loving soul.
He is survived by his father & mother Gerard & Elizabeth (Whelan) Stenerson, his sister Sara Leatherbee, brother-in-law Paul Leatherbee, his many loving aunts, uncles and cousins both in the U.S. and in Ireland. He is preceded in death by his grandparents James and Joan Whelan, Vincent and Florence Stenerson, and his aunt and uncle John and Betty Stenerson.
There will be a visitation on Thursday July 26th from 4pm-8pm at Shepherd’s Funeral Home, 216 Main St., in Kingston, MA 02364. All are welcome. A private burial at the Hillcrest cemetery in Plympton, MA will be held on Friday July 27th at 11am. Donations in Conor’s memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation at msfocus.org, the American Heart Association at www.heart.org or Angell Animal Medical Center www.mspca.org.
In Loving Memory
