Obituary of Sandra Jean Lynch

Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sandra Jean (Greenwood) Lynch, 78, of Kingston, passed away after a brief illness on July 14, 2018.

“Sandy” was married for 54 years to the late Richard P. Lynch of Kingston.  She was the loving Mother to Michael P. Lynch (deceased) and daughter-in-law Julie Lynch of Kingston, and to Timothy Lynch of Cambridge.  Sandy was also “Nana” to her grandchildren, Ryan (deceased), Allyson, Eli and Sara Lynch, all of Kingston.

Sandy was the daughter of the late Eli and Ruth Greenwood of Rockland and the younger sister of the late Alfred Greenwood of Virginia.  Sandy is survived by her cousins, Judith Aroujo of Sanford ME, Barbara Blanchette of Lakeville and Donald Friary of Salem.

Raised in Rockland, Sandy attended Massasoit Community College and became a registered nurse specializing in cardiac care.

Her hobbies included skiing with her family, golfing with her many “White Cliff” friends, reading, and creating folk art paintings and beautiful Nantucket baskets. Sandy was also known to make and enjoy the perfect coffee frappe.

Sandy’s loving and generous spirit was always felt by everyone.  She was truly the definition of a steel magnolia - beautiful, gentle, and strong.

Sandy’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 am. at St. Joseph’s Parish, 272 Main Street, Kingston, MA on Saturday August 4th. Services will conclude with an interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Plympton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandy’s name to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, at www.bcrf.org.
