Obituary of Dana Jon Harju

Dana Jon Harju, 32, of Carver, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

He leaves behind his loving wife and soulmate Colleen (Brodeur) Harju and his three beautiful children Austin, Fiona, and Jack. He is the son of Kenneth and Bettygene (Brown) Harju of Middleboro. Brother to Derek Harju and his wife Elizabeth of Halifax, his three nieces, Grace, Quinn, and Blake Harju of Halifax. His grandmother Enid Harju of Carver, and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. He is also survived by his in laws Jeff and Maura Brodeur and his brother in law Vincent Brodeur of Hyannis, as well as his lifelong best friend John Shurtleff of Carver.

Dana attended the Middleboro schools until 8th grade. He graduated from Norfolk Agricultural High School in Walpole in 2004, and Massasoit Community College in 2008 with an Associates Degree in Business Administration.

From the time he was a child he loved working in the family business growing cranberries. In 2007 he and his brother became partners in their own cranberry bogs. He was a proud Ocean Spray Cranberry Grower/Owner. He enjoyed working alongside his dad, brother, uncles, and crew.

Dana loved life, and lived it to the fullest. He loved to travel, ski, water sports, motorcycles, dirt bike racing, and fast cars. He especially enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends.

Most importantly he loved spending time with the loves of his life, his wife and three children.

He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends whom he brought so much joy to all their lives.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 15th from 4-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (Rt 58) Carver. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 16th at United Parish Church, at 10:00 AM in Carver. Graveside services will follow at the Union cemetery in Carver.
