Bruce Hammond Chaffee, 70, of Kingston, Ma and Beverly Hills, Florida passed away on May 21, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was “Brilliant Bruce” to his Florida friends. He was an avid Red Sox enthusiast, a Jack-of-all-trades and true Libertarian. Bruce took great pride in his 10 year trivia gatherings with his beloved Team Venice at Carmela’s in Kingston. Bruce was the son of the late Warren H. Chaffee of Oxford, MA and Barbara Chaffee of Longwood, Florida and Marion, MA. Bruce was the most wonderful and devoted husband to Anne (McCarthy) for 45 years He was the loving father of Jolianne Boucher and husband Nick of Sandwich and son Roger Chaffee of Kingston, and much loved grandsons, Jack and Ben Boucher of Sandwich. He was the brother of Diane Chaffee Sorace and her husband Dr. James Sorace of Maryland and the late Scott Chaffee of Dudley. Uncle of Cheryl of Bedford, Dr. Brian Sorace of Virginia, Dr. Katie McCarthy of Brookline and Drew McCarthy of Holbrook. Brother-in-law of Andy and Maureen McCarthy of Rockland. Bruce was a graduate of Worcester Academy and Northeastern University. He was proud of his Army service in Vietnam Chaplain Corp. Bruce was the former Manager of Information Systems at General Dynamics in Quincy, Ma. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 31, at 5:00pm with visiting hours from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (route 106), Kingston. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on June 13.
