Obituary of Doris A. Hietala

Doris A. Hietala, 74, of Carver, formerly of Rockland, passed away on March 24, 2018. Beloved wife of William C. Hietala. Loving mother of Jeffrey Hietala and Christine Johnson of Holbrook, and Douglas Hietala of Marshfield. Sister to Jean Penny of Braintree, Robert Straiti of Columbus, OH,  and David Straiti of Allston. Cherished grandmother to Douglas Hietala Jr, Emily Hietala, and Jacob Hietala. Doris is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as her extended family. 

Doris worked for New England Telephone, and Franklin Publishing as editor of Classified ads. She enjoyed designing making her own porcelain and vinyl dolls. 

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 28th from 4-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (Rt. 58) Carver. A funeral service will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home on Thursday, March 29th at 11:00 AM. Graveside services will follow at the MA National cemetery in Bourne.
