Obituary of Dorothy G. Frates

Dorothy G. (Gonsalves) Frates,of Carver, formerly of S. Dartmouth, passed away on August 6, 2011. She was 86 years old. Raised and educated in New Bedford, she was a graduate of New Bedford High School, and retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield in New Bedford. Beloved mother of Heidi J Reid, and her husband Peter of Fairhaven, and the late Albert A. Frates Jr, and Matthew Frates. Mother in law of Janice Frates - Tripp of Plympton. Loving grandmother of Sarah E. Crump of Carver and the late Jeffrey T. Crump, Andrew A. Frates and his wife Lindsay of Carver, Adam M. Frates and his fiancé Samantha D'Andrea of Carver, Regan Demers of New Bedford, Taylor Reid of Fairhaven, and Mackenzie Reid of Fairhaven. Cherished great grandmother of Matthew, Michael, and Patrick Crump of Carver, Jonathan and Brandon Frates of Carver, Alexandra and Samuel Demers, Haleigh Jefferson, and Elsie Reid. Sister of the late Matthew Gonsalves, Hilda Florio, Alfred Gonsalves, Herman Gonsalves, James Gonsalves. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 13th, at 10:00 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (Rt 58) Carver. Internment will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Plympton.
