Obituary of Dona T. Rudolph

Donata T. “Dona” (Malizia) Rudolph of Carver, originally of Brighton and a long-term resident of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth on Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Her beloved husband James E. Rudolph and her daughters Sheila Rudolph-Correia and Kathy Rudolph-Belbin were at her side. She also leaves behind her brother Joseph Malizia and his wife Louisa, of Ellsworth, ME, her sons-in-law Ivan Correia of Winchester, MA and Robert Belbin of Carver, and five beloved grandchildren: James, Christopher and Gabrielle Belbin and Griffin and Alister Correia. Born in Brighton, MA on March 15, 1927 to Emilia (Bernadelli) and Alessandro Malizia, she was a graduate of St. Columbkille’s School, class of 1945, and received her RN diploma from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1949. She worked for many years at the Lahey Clinic in Boston, and served as Director of Nursing at North River Nursing Home in Pembroke. She was very active in the South Shore Visiting Nurses Assn. and was a devoted member of her parishes, St. Mary of the Sacred Heart in Hanover and then Our Lady of Lourdes in Carver. Loved by all who knew her for her kindness and generosity, she will especially be remembered for the thoughtful notes she never failed to send. Visiting hours will be Friday, June 10 from 4-8:00 pm at Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (Rt. 58) Carver. A Funeral mass will be Saturday, June 11 at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Carver, with burial following at Calvary Cemetery of Waltham. Donations may be made in her memory to the St. Elizabeth’s Hosp. School of Nursing Alumni Scholarship fund http://www.stelizabethsalumni.org
