Obituary of Mark Allen Sawyer

Mark Allen Sawyer of Carver passed away on May 25, 2011. He was 55 years old. He was the son of Nancy L. Sawyer and the late Lawrence W. Sawyer of Plymouth. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Burch, daughter Tayla, and cherished grandson, Camden Burch. Brother of Susan Vecchi, Michael Sawyer, and his wife Betsy of Plymouth, Leslie Atkins and her husband, Jim, of Moore, SC. Uncle to four nieces and nephews and great uncle to six grandnieces and grandnephews. Mark graduated from Plymouth-Carver High School, class of '73. He was a talented craftsman and carpenter. He will be remembered as a caring and generous friend, loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved the outdoors, animals, and fishing. Visiting hours will be held Friday, June 3, from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 main St., Carver. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 4 11am, at the Chiltonville Congregational Church, 6 River St., Plymouth, MA. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA), 350 So. Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130, Attn: Kathleen Santry.
