Priscilla Alden (Freeman) Call – June 16th, 1904 --- May 17th, 2011. 106 years old. Born in Whitman to Omer and Jessie (Gowell) Freeman. Priscilla was the 12th generation direct descendent of Priscilla Alden. She grew up in North Abington and bought her first house in Marshfield where she walked the beach daily. Once married Priscilla moved to Pembroke where she spent the majority of her life. Outliving her siblings Priscilla was the oldest of four, Cedric Freeman, Norma (Dolly) VanAmringe and Robert Freeman. Priscilla was married to the late Warren Chester Call and is survived by her grandson, Stephen Fox , his wife Wendy, her four great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeff , Nic and Tim along with great-great granddaughters Eva and Grace all of Pembroke. Her nieces Jean (VanAmringe) Wylie, Joyce Freeman, nephews Roger Perry VanAmringe, Robert Freeman and Richard Freeman, along with several other nieces and nephews. Priscilla graduated with honors from Abington High School and went on to Boston University. She worked as a secretary for National Coating of Rockland until she was 80 years old. She was an avid Red Sox fan attending her first game in 1907 with her father. She was there in 1918 when the Red Sox won the World Series and it was her passion ever since. She loved to dance and had many fond memories of Mayflower Grove in Bryantville. Priscilla was the current holder of Pembroke’s Boston Post Cane that she received just before her 100th birthday in May of 2004. She had a charming personality and touched many lives in her amazing 106 years. Priscilla was quoted on many occasions saying, “I just had the most wonderful life.” She will be sadly missed by so many yet the impact she has left in their hearts will last forever. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 27th, 2011 at 11:00am at Shepherd’s Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt. 14) Pembroke. Donations in Priscilla’s memory can be made to Asera Care Hospice as thanks for the amazing love and support they gave her.
