Jane and I were best friends in 9 th grade at Roosevelt Jr. High School, so yes, that was 56 years ago. I was new at the school. Nevertheless, I remember Jane always as a kind, helpful, deeply caring person. Her ideas were ahead of our time, intellectually and politically, and not always accepted by the group. She was a better friend to me than I was to her, regrettably. RIP dear friend.
