Barbara L. Anthony, of Plymouth, and formerly of Carver for 30 years, passed away on May 18, 2011. She was 85 years old. Barbara was born in Plymouth, and graduated from Kingston High School. She was a certified Nurses Aide at the Newfield House in Plymouth for 17 years. She was an active member of St. Peter’s Guild, and enjoyed traveling, including two times to Jerusalem, dancing, pink cars, the beach, painting, and antiques. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother and friend, and she leaves many close friends and staff at the Lifecare Center in Plymouth. Beloved wife of the late Richard J. Anthony. Loving mother of Jane Grennell of Plymouth. Loving sister of the late Francis Gallerani and his wife Sonja of Brockton. Cherished grandmother of Renee and her husband Dana of Carver, and Brett Grennell and his wife Stephanie of Carver. Barbara is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. An hour of visitation will be held on Monday, May 23rd from 9:30 – 10:30 at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (Rt. 58) Carver. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter’s church in Plymouth on Monday, May 23rd at 11:00 AM. Internment will be at the MA National cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cranberry Area Hospice, 36 Cordage park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
