Obituary of Manuel Souza

Manuel "Manny" Souza Jr. of Halifax passed away May 9th at the age of 88. Born March 9,1923 in E. Taunton to the late Manuel Souza Sr. and Mary (Garcia) Souza. Manny was the husband of the late Jean Currier Souza. Father of Victoria M. DeOrnelas grandfather of Krystal & John DeOrnelas all of Brockton. And 3 great-grandchildren. He is survived by 2 sisters: Lorraine Souza of Brockton and Mary Stracqualursi of E. Bridgewater. A third sister, Ida Souza of Brockton preceeded him in death. Manny was also the step-father of: Marcia Brine of Pembroke, Linda Quinton of OH, Ruthanne Currier-Allen of GA, David Currier of Plympton and Richard Currier of Halifax. And leaves behind many step-grandhildren and many step-great grandchildren. Mr. Souza lived in Brockton, Hanson and Halifax for over 50 years. Manny was an Army WWII veteran and he retired from Corcoran Plumbing in Brockton after being with them for 40 years. He and his late wife, Jean lived in Zepher Hills, Fl for several years prior to returning to Halifax. They both enjoyed traveling and RVing in their motor home. Memorial calling hours will be held Monday May 16th from 5-7pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 7pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home 7 Mattakeesett St. (Rte 14) Pembroke MA.
