Warren Madison Robertson Jr has gone home to be with the Lord. Warren Madison Robertson, age 88 years, of Carver died Sunday May 8, 2011. He was the husband of Sally Louise (Brown) Robertson. They had been married for 6o years. He was born in Chelsea, MA on September 28th, 1922. He was the son of the late Warren Madison Robertson Sr and Esther Mae (Gregory) Robertson. He was the Brother of Phyllis (Robertson) Gravatt. Warren Entered the Navy on December 3, 1942. He served in Newport R.I, Portsmouth, VA, Oceanside, VA, Norfolk, VA, V-12 Unit Schenectady, NY, and Camp Elliott San Diego, CA. At which point he was transferred into the 4th Medical Battalion, 4th Marine Division. After intensive training, he shipped out on 13 January 1944, and in 13 months was a part of four major amphibious assaults, in the battles of Kwajalein (Roi-Namur), Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima, He was awarded a World War II Victory Medal, an American Theatre Medal, an Asian Pacific Theatre Medal, and a Good Conduct award. He received an Honorable Discharge on Feb 8th 1946. Semper Fi! Warren Retired from Blue-Cross Blue Shield, and became an avid Fisherman! “The fish that live in the ponds and reservoirs of Carver still tremble at the mention of his name.” Warren was iconic in the Dandy Donuts coffee shop in the Center of town. He will be forever, loved and remembered as a Carverite! Warren was survived by 7 Children, four daughters - Sybil and her husband James German, Sandie Allsopp and Barry Woods, Bonnie and her Husband Vinson Pratt, and Margaret and her Husband Jack Morehead and Three Sons - Dave and his wife Patricia Robertson, Stuart and his wife Brenda Robertson and John and his wife Nancy Robertson, 10 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grand Children, and his best friend Ward Hannula. A Memorial Service will be held at Central Baptist Church in Middleboro on Wednesday May 11, 2011 at 3:00PM. A reception will follow and announced at the Memorial Service.
