Barbara Monroe Covell Manseau of Carver, passed away on April 24, 2011. She was 94 years old. She was born October 12, 1916 in Weymouth. Barbara enjoyed music and sang in the church choir at Christ Episcopal Church in Plymouth for many years. In 1980 she went to Europe for several weeks and sang with the international chorus. She was the daughter of the late George and Laura Sherman Monroe of Marshfield. Widow of Carl L. Covell of Plymouth. Sister of the late Sylvia Young, Audrey Ellis, Avis Knight, and Marylou Lambert Baumoff. Barbara lived with her daughter Cynthia Covell Wilkins and son in law the late Carl R. Wilkins in Carver. Also in the residence her granddaughter Jenny Wilkins Wilson, husband Ronald Wilson, and granddaughter Dorothy Wilkins with her great grandchildren Tayla L. Sturtevant, Christopher E. Sturtavant Jr., Nathan R. Wilson, and Laura E. Wilkins. Barbara was the mother of Fred L. Covell of Medway, Harold W. Covell of AZ, and the late George L. Covell, Laura E. Hall, Jeanette Neil Sanford, and Helen Covell. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 27th from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St (Rt. 58) Carver. A funeral service is set to begin at 8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Cranberry Area Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
