Obituary of Ruth P. Guilderson

Ruth P. (Sullivan) Guilderson of Kingston died peacefully at home, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, November 10, 2010, at the age of 92. Beloved wife of 59 years of the late Francis X. Guilderson, former Boston and Duxbury police officer, Ruth is the beloved mother of Carole P. Ottino and the late Richard A. Ottino of Carver, MA; Katherine M. Dyer of Port St. Lucie, FL; Ruth M. and Jon H. Alberghini of Kingston, MA; Frances M. and former husband David E. Kennedy of Brighton, MA; David X. and Linda A. Guilderson of Sandwich, MA; John J. and Laureen E. Guilderson of Kingston, MA. Beloved Nana to Maria Cadete, Keith Ottino, Elizabeth Ottino, Jennifer Basile, Joseph Conte, Kevin Conte, Timothy Conte, Michael Conte, Jon Alberghini, Nicole Walton, the late Danielle Alberghini, Laura Kennedy-Gillis, Scott Kennedy, Sean Kennedy, Jean Kennedy, Shannon Smitherman, Shawn Guilderson, Colleen Guilderson, and Brendan Guilderson. Beloved great-grandmother to 33 great-grandchildren. Born March 17, 1918 in Boston, Ruth is predeceased by her parents Charles A. and Catherine L. Sullivan of Roslindale, sisters Harriet Daley and Marie Connell, and brothers Oliver J. Sullivan, Richard Sullivan, Francis Sullivan, Charles Sullivan, Edward Sullivan and Leo Sullivan. Ruth is also survived by many close nieces and nephews. Ruth was a resident of Duxbury for 32 years and Kingston for 27 years. Ruth enjoyed spending time at Landing Road and Duxbury Beaches. She enjoyed many winters with her husband in Florida. Her love of music was surpassed only by her love of family. Visiting hours will be hed on Sunday, November 14th from 2-6:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St (Rt. 106) Kingston. A funeral mass will be held at St. Josephs church, Kingston, on Monday November 15th at 10:00 AM. Internment will be at the Evergreen cemetery in Kingston.
