Obituary of Walter C. Frisbee

Walter C. Frisbee, of Pembroke, formerly of Dorchester died October 15, 2010 in Plymouth. He was 86 years old.
Born in Boston on January 3, 1924, he was the son of Jerome and Alice Frisbee. He married Lillian J. Bennett on March 23, 1943. He was a member of the civilian Conservation Corps in his youth. He was a World War II combat veteran of the United State Merchant Marines, delivering supplies to our troops in combat areas. He was honorably discharge from the U.S. Naval service, and the U.S. Coast Guard. As a long time member of the American Merchant Marine Veterans New England Chapter, he served on the Board of Directors. He was also a member of the American Legion, Pembroke Post, and the disabled American Veterans.
Walter worked for many years as a shipbuilder and rigger. He loved sailing. He was an artist at nautical knot tying. Walter was also an avid railroad enthusiast, sharing his love of trains with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Beloved husband of Lillian J. Loving father of George C. Frisbee and his wife Judith of Lowell, VT, James A. Frisbee and his wife Lorraine of Duxbury, Lillian A. Stevens and her husband James P. of Plymouth, Anne Marie Cunningham of Kingston, and the late Walter F. Frisbee and his wife Gail of Pembroke. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Laurie Bourke, Pamela Kuketz, James Frisbee Jr, William Frisbee, Jason Frisbee, Gregory Frisbee, Melinda Cunningham, Luke Frisbee, Sarah Mann, Alyssa Cunningham, Lillian Machos, and James Stevens, as well as 17 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 19th from 4-7:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rt. 106) Kingston. A funeral service will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, on Wednesday, October 20th at 10:00 AM. Internment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Pembroke. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: American Alzheimers Assoc.
