Dear John,
Your friend Philip met me the other day- by chance..though there is no chance really...all is in Divine right order..
He says- after discovering that I grew up in Duxbury (but moved to Rhode Island in 9th grade) do you know John Lozier....?
What??? I couldn't believe it- of all the people in Duxbury he knew YOU....I began to smile. You see, John, I had a HUGE crush on you when I was in 3rd and 4th grade (or maybe it was 4th and 5th ?). In fact- I was so certain that YOU were my soulmate (of course we didn't use words like "soulmate" back then ..and it wasn't until years later when I read Shirley Maclaine did I embrace the soulmate concept..hehe-) that I wrote a sign on my bedroom door. It read: Mrs. John Lozier. That's right in 4th grade I declared myself your wife. The funny thing is I don't even think we ever spoke. You probably didn't know me- I was rather mousy and small- but nonetheless something about you touched something in me.
Philip hadn't spoken to you in 10 years and then he met me and decided to get in contact with you. Much to his dismay he found out that you had died in 2010. I kinda think maybe you were around the other night whispering to Philip.
I am sending you great light and joy from this earthly plane and hoping your current adventure is grand.
Thanks for being such a goofy part of my imaginary romantic little girl life.

I am saddened to find out that John has passed. We were roommates at Summer Youth Music School at UNH, and we played together at Summer Wind Ensemble in Hingham. He was our 1st trumpeter. A quiet roomate, I liked him a lot. We last talked in the 1990s - so sad to find this out.
fondly,
Philip Trask

To Mary, Elizabeth, and Anne--
So much for my memory! He was a contemporary of Karl's, not David's. Although David remembers him as a child running around with Karl and John Wilson. Of course I do too, now that I'm thinking straight. Karl played trumpet, as did David. Everything remains the same. Lovely boy, lovely young man, who had an inate sweetness. I'm sure his nieces and nephews loved him dearly. My condolences to all...Wee Anne, married and with a daughter! Much love to all of you...Janice Neubauer

Dear Mary and Elizabeth,
I was so very sorry to hear from Lynda of John's death. I remember him as a good neighbor and friend to David and Lynda...a beautiful, beautiful boy who played the trumpet brilliantly. I had some conversations with him after his sadness at college, and found him the same sweet boy I remembered from high school in spite of the sadness. John is someone I will never forget. Love and hugs to all of you.

My deepest condolences to the Lozier family. I used to babysit John and the girls. What a joyful boy he was!
