Obituary of Richard S. Phippen

Richard S, Phippen, Sr. of Meadow Brook Way, Carver, age 76, died peacefully on August 22, 2010, at the Life Care Center in Plymouth. Richard was the son of the late William and Katherine Phippen, formerly of Winchester, MA. He is survived by his brothers, Dr. William G. Phippen of New London, NH, George R. Phippen of New London, NH, and Charles G. Phippen of Alstead, NH. He leaves his daughters Dawn M. Purdue of Reidsville, NC, Penelope A. Martin of Marshfield Hills, MA, and his son, Richard S. Phippen, Jr. of Carver, MA, along with 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Rick served as a Lab Tech in the U.S. Army. He was the founder and former director of the Plymouth Medical Labratory. Rick was involved in town politics and a former selectman for the town of Carver. A private service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010, at 11:15 AM at the MA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
