Wallace S. Nightingale, Jr., Navy veteran, 82, of Kingston, died Monday at Massachusetts General Hospital. Loving husband of the late Mary Nightingale, son of the late Wallace and Gladys Nightingale, he is survived by many loving cousins, his good friends on Hillcrest Road in Kingston, and his pastor and friends at the Silver Lake Chapel in Kingston. Born in Plymouth, he served in the Navy in WWII in the Pacific. He was devoted to his wife Mary and together they enjoyed their home in Kingston, gardening, and traveling. In later years he enjoyed airplanes, fishing, and his friends in Kingston, providing help, cooking, and sharing time with them. He attended the Silver Lake Chapel faithfully and cared deeply for the people he knew there. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 19th from 2-4:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St (Rt. 106) Kingston. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 20th at 10:00 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home. Internment will be at Vine Hills cemetery in Plymouth.
