Obituary of Margaret M. Sproul

Margaret M. (Ruane) Sproul, resident of Halifax, MA., died July 26, 2010 at the age of 77. Born in Boston, MA. on October 1, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John J. Ruane and Catherine (McDonnell) Ruane. She was educated in the Roxbury schools. Early in her life, she was a nursing assistant at New England Deaconess Hospital. When she married, she moved to Brockton and after raising six children, she worked at the Foxboro Company in E. Bridgewater. She was known as a person with a strong spirit who had a keen, questioning mind. She loved games of chance and enjoyed going to the casino's and playing cards with her children. Her jar of pennies for poker were always close by. Survivors include her daughters Kathleen Clay and her husband Earl from W. Yarmouth, Diane Mousette and her husband Ken from Avon, Mary Coffey and her husband Ed from Hanover, Patricia Pobudinski and Eileen Collins, both from Taunton. She also leaves a sister, Eileen T. Ruane from W. Yarmouth as well as 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Harry A. Sproul and her brother John F. (Jack) Ruane. At Margaret’s request, there will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anne's in Quincy on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 10AM. Burial will be at St. Mary’s cemetery in Quincy. Donations in memory of Margaret Sproul can be made to the American Cancer Society 1115 W. Chestnut St. Brockton MA 02301.
