Obituary of Barbara M. McAvoy

Barbara M. (Means) McAvoy, 92, lifelong resident of Quincy, died June 26.Barbara graduated from North Quincy High School, Class of 1936. She organized and ran class reunions up to their 65th reunion.She enjoyed oil painting and spending time with family. She was the wife of the late George L. McAvoy, the mother of Barbara Solari of Pembroke, and Janet Chambers of Oxford, MA, and grandmother of six grandsons, and great grandmother of seven great grandchildren.She was also the sister of Maude Gallinelli of Marshfield and Phyllis Corridan of Braintree. Calling hours will be held Wednesday June 30th from 6-8 pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home 7 Mattakeesett St. (Rte 14 Pembroke Center) Pembroke, MA. Funeral from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St, Pembroke Center on Thurs. July 1 at 9:00AM, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Hanson at 10:00AM. Burial is private.
