Edith M. (Cody) Morrison of Kingston passed away June 23rd at the age of 86. Mrs. Morrison was born on May 4th 1924. She grew up in Boston and married her childhood sweetheart Frank Morrison on March 13, 1944. They spent a wonderful 66 years together. Together with her husband, they raised seven children in Squantum. She had worked at the Squantum Elementary School and at the Stop & Shop Payroll Department. She was happiest when surrounded by her large family. She loved to sew and she designed and quilted comforters for all of her Grandchildren and many Great-grandchildren. “Nana” Morrison loved to cook and frequently delivered home made bread and pies to family members. Mrs. Morrison supported many Catholic Charities but especially the mission of the Maryknoll Sisters. Daily Mass and reciting the rosary were a very large part of her life. She retired to Hanson and then to Kingston where she spent her last 10 years with her beloved husband Frank. Mrs. Morrison spent the last 10 months living at Wingate at Silver Lake where she had made many friendships with other residents and staff. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her parents Thomas Howard and Jennie Cody, her siblings Herbert Cody, Walter Cody, Hazel Marsh and Jean Brems. She leaves her children; Frank R. Morrison Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Westwood, Dennis Morrison, Thomas (Jake) Morrison of Carver, Colleen Askin and her husband Jeffrey of Plymouth, Maureen Doherty and her husband James of Wareham, Kevin Morrison and his wife Anne of Hanson and Kathleen Shea and her husband Joseph of Plymouth. She is survived by daughter in-laws; Catherine Morrison of Squantum and Jannine VerHaegen of Plymouth. She is also survived by 17 Grandchildren whom she adored; KellyAnn, Michael, Jamie, Shane, Jesse, Tyler, Nicole, Jarrod, James, Jennifer, Melissa, Kristopher, Sean, Brendan, Patrick, Meghan and Cameron. She will be greatly missed also by her 15 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived her Brother-in-law Michael Brems of Braintree and her sister-in-law Madeline Healy of Winthrop and many nieces and nephews. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday June27,2010 from 4-7pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home 216 Main st (Rt106) Kingston. Family and Friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Mon June 28,2010 at 9am followerd by a mass at Holy Family Church in Duxbury at 10am. Burial will be at the Massachusett National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30 pm.
