Obituary of Joan D. Edsall

Joan Diane Edsall, 71 of Carver passed away suddenly on April 25th. She was a loving, kind, caring and giving mother, grandmother and great grandmother as well as aunt and friend. Born in Quincy, MA to her parents Richard and Marion Simmons. She is survived by her sons Karl Edsall of Weymouth and Ross Edsall of Marshfield, her daughter Tammy DeBoer, son-in-law Richard DeBoer and Grandson "J.D." DeBoer all of Plymouth. Her Grandson Jason Edsall, his wife Krista Edsall and her Great Grandson Jayden Edsall all of Plymouth. Her Brother Newell Simmons and wife Dorothy of CT, Her sister Marion Volpe (wife of the late Joe Volpe) of Carver, her sister Audrey and her husband Antone Oliveira of Carver, and her brother-in-law Edward Gillis (husband of her late sister Elaine Gillis), as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She loved the sand dunes and beaches of Truro on Cape Cod. She also loved reading, baking, relaxing poolside and was an avid gardener. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who shared in her love and light. Calling hours will be from 12:00 - 2:00, followed by a service at 2:00 on Friday April 30, 2010 at the Shepherd Funeral Home 116 Main St. (rte 58) Carver, MA.
