Obituary of June E. Shirley

June E. (Eldridge) Shirley of Duxbury passed away April 13, 2010 at Wingate at Silver Lake in Kingston. Born on July 1, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Carl Eldridge and Bertha Drew Marston. June attended the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture. She was formerly employed at the Arnold Arboretum at Harvard. She resided in Duxbury with her husband the late Maurice H. Shirley who was the former Clerk and Treasurer for the Town of Duxbury. June was extremely knowledgeable regarding horticulture and she loved sharing her knowledge with her friends and neighbors. She also loved animals and gardening.
A special note of thanks would like to be made to the nurses and caretakers at Wingate at Silver Lake for the compassionate care that June received during her stay there.
A Graveside Service will be held on Fri. April 30th at Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut St., Newton, MA at 12:30PM.
A Memorial Tree was planted for June
