Obituary of Roberta L. Buckley

Roberta L. Buckley (Long), wife of the late Robert E. Buckley, died April 2nd at the age of 83. She was born in Stoughton, graduated from Stoughton high school, and worked for Shawmut Bank of Boston, and for 27 years at Plymouth County Board of Realtors, MLS. A Duxbury resident since 1955, she was the MLS secretary for the Plymouth Board of Realtors where she broke ground in March 1969 by making the first call to IBM computer in Detroit to open the phone circuit of the new B-P-Q Realtor Multiple Listing Service. She was an avid reader and an animal lover. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Leslie Godfrey of Duxbury, her son Robert Buckley and his wife Jo Ann of Duxbury, her son Brian Buckley and his wife Susan of Duxbury, her sister Dorris McDonald of Canton, her brother Charles Long of Freeport, Maine, her five grandchildren; Robert Torrey, Pamela Torrey, Meghan Buckley, Hannah Buckley, and Rebecca Buckley, as well as nieces, nephews, and friends. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 7th from 4-8:00PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St (Rt. 106) Kingston. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 8th, at 11:00AM at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Allegiance Hospice Care, 5 Cabot Place, Stoughton, MA 02072.
