Obituary of Paula Vespaziani

Paula Vespaziani, (Vess), of East Bridgewater, formerly of Hanson died March 26, 2010 at 63 years of age after a long illness.
Beloved daughter of the late Laura Vess and Albert and Rosalie Vess. Survived by her loving brother Mark Vess and wife Helen of Hanson. She is also survived by 3 step-brothers, Bill Mantia and wife Elaine, of Mansfield, Jackie Mantia and wife Gail of Bridgewater and Bobby Mantia of Quincy, and 3 step-nephews. She is also survived by her cousin Betsy Smart and husband Jimmy of Kingston as well as other Cousins, Aunts and Uncles.
Paula was born in Maine and raised in Hanson. She grew up frequenting the local ponds, fields and rivers collecting all sorts of wildlife. She spent her childhood working with animals and was involved in 4H Club. She was an avid gardener. She was a graduate of the Whitman Hanson High School. She held two degrees from U. Mass, Amherst, one in Analytical Chemistry and the other in Animal Husbandry. She held several positions on the South Shore as a Chemical Analyst and Quality Control Technician. Paula enjoyed martial arts and practiced as a black belt for a number of years. Paula was an accomplished oils artist well known on the South Shore. Her paintings were acclaimed for their detail and style and she had showings exclusively of her works. Paula enjoyed her family very much but was especially close to her step-mom, Rosalie Vess.
Friends & Relatives are invited to gather at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St. (Pembroke Center) on Wednesday, April 7th beginning at 11:00 AM for a one hour remembrance followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon. Committal and Internment to immediately follow at the Fern Hill Cemetery, High Street in Hanson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Paula’s memory to the Hanson Food Pantry 215 Main St. Hanson MA 02341.
