Obituary of Phyllis L. Andrews

Phyllis L. Andrews, a long time Hanson resident died peacefully on January 22, 2010 at the age of 86 from a long illness. She was the beloved wife of Antone (Tony) Andrews of 57 years. She was survived by her daughter Jolene Jordan-Lee of Sylmar, California and her daughter Joyce D Jordan of Hanson, her 5 grandchildren and 11 great grand children and 9 great-great grandchildren. Phyllis led a very active life serving her family, community and country. She was the past president of the VFW Post 697 Ladies Auxiliary several times, Chairperson for the VFW Cancer Society and a member of the American Legion. Prior to her death, she continued to give by creating beautiful hand knit or crocheted blankets for those in the hospital, those in need, babies, and each member of her family. Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett Street, Rte 14, Pembroke, on Tuesday, January 26th, from 3-7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, January 27th at 9 a.m. at the Our Lady of the Lake Parish 580 Monponsett Street, (Rt.58) Halifax.
