W. Edward ‘Eddie’ Milligan, after a full and loving life of eighty-nine years, died peacefully December 11th at the Falmouth Care and Rehabilitation Center in Falmouth, MA. Eddie was born in Hanover, IL, on May 28th, 1920, and grew up in Canton, MA. During World War II he served his country as navigator of a B24 flying out of North Africa and England. While serving in England he met Evelyn Doris Taylor, the love of his life. There were happily married until her death in 1995. Eddie earned a Master’s Degree in Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration from Northeastern University. He worked for manufacturers of large-scale industrial machinery, and held several patents. He settled his family in Duxbury, MA, in 1966. Eddie was past President of Duxbury Rotary and was awarded a Paul Harris fellowship. Eddie was a member of Pilgrim Church in Duxbury for over forty-years, serving on various boards and committees and teaching Sunday school. He is survived by two children of whom he was very proud: a daughter Valerie Gresh of White Horse Beach, MA, and a son Rev. Lee Milligan of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by a sister, Martha Stripinis of Canton, MA, a grandson Larry Wills, and two great-grandsons, Mason and Lawson . Those who knew Eddie will remember his generous and loving heart, his quick wit and amiable sense of humor, his strong and abiding faith, and his incredibly wide-ranging knowledge on almost any subject. A memorial service will be held on January 14th at 11am at Pilgrim Church in Duxbury. The family requests that memorial gifts be made to Beacon Hospice Lighthouse Foundation, 529 Main St., Suite 101, Boston, MA 02129.
