Obituary of Doris M. Faulkner

Doris MacNaught Faulkner, 96, died Dec. 1. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 1992 and her daughter Judith in 2006. Doris was born on St. George St. in Duxbury, Feb. 8, 1913. She attended Partridge Academy and graduated from Duxbury High School in 1930. A life long resident of Duxbury, Doris worked as a telephone operator on Washington St. during the summers of 1929 and 1930 to help pay for her college education at Burdett in Boston. She graduated with honors from Burdett and then went to work for Fulton Fish Co. in Boston. She met her husband in 1935 at the Fieldston Ball Room at the height of the Big Band era. Doris and Walter were married in 1936. They had 56 wonderful years together. Doris leaves 1 daughter, Linda of Brant Rock, MA, 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Doris retired from Battelle Lab of Duxbury, where she worked for 30 years. She was a lifetime member of the Pilgrim Church in Duxbury and at one time was Supt.of the Sunday School.
